She graduated from Marist College with degrees in Communications & Media Studies and Spanish, followed by a Master of Arts in Family Counseling from Medaille College.
Throughout her academic career, Laura’s commitment to creating long-term change fueled her involvement with both campus and community outreach programs. From coordinating campus giveaways to launching fundraising campaigns for local typhoon victims, various organizations were granted the resources they lacked via Laura’s imagination and hard work. Her experience helping organizations impacted by Hurricane Sandy made her realize that disaster relief doesn’t end after natural disasters. Unfortunately, many people are left vulnerable even after the damage has been done—which made Laura even more determined to amplify disadvantaged voices when she moved back home to Upstate New York.
As soon as she arrived home, she was ready to get involved in all different aspects of her community—helping out small businesses through Chamber Economic initiatives, volunteering at local charities by developing post-disaster programming strategies and continuing her roles as a mentor through organizations like Girls Incorporated of Northern New York (GINY). In addition to working on uplifting initiatives within Upstate New York communities, she is also the founder and CEO of Legacy Unspoken World Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to projects
