CASHING THE FINE
If you have already paid the fine but want to make sure that it’s gone from your record and on your license, there are three ways to do this:
Call your local Department of Motor Vehicles before you get a ticket or if you have questions about the fine or point system.
You can also contact NYS DMV at 888-692-4776 (TDD 718-457-4357) for more information about points, speeding tickets, and violations.

If you have a question about your license, please call the office in charge of your area:
You may request a hearing to contest the violation you received.
You may request a hearing to contest the violation you received. You must submit a written request (must be postmarked within ten days of the offense) showing proof that you were driving safely and that the officer was wrong when he noted the violation. If you cannot attend this hearing in person, we will mail your notice and paperwork at our expense. The hearing officer will consider all evidence presented by both parties before deciding whether points should be removed from your license or any other action taken against you as described in NAG §11-106(c).
Suppose you want to challenge the accuracy of the stop sign violation that led to your points. In that case, you must submit a written request (must be postmarked within ten days of the offense) showing proof that you were driving safely and that the officer was wrong when he noted the violation.

If this happens, then DMV will review your case and determine whether or not it should be removed from your record. If so, they’ll notify you in writing with instructions on removing any points from your license history report.
Section; FINDING THE RULE(S) CONCERNING YOUR VIOLATION AND FOR WHICH YOU RECEIVED POINTS
To find the rule(s) and violation(s) for which you received points, you must first locate the violation date.
Section; YOU WILL GET ONE CONTESTATION PER VIOLATION
You will receive a notice of a breach in the mail if you are cited for a violation. This is the first step to contesting the charge. You can contest only one violation at a time, so if there is more than one violation on your license, they may be dismissed by DMV staff without further action by you.
You may only contest one violation within a year or two years from when we issued our last citation for that type of traffic offense (such as speeding). For example: If we sent out three citations for speeding between October 1st and December 31st of last year, then no matter what happens during this period—you cannot file any new ones until February 1st next year because, during that month, no tickets were issued under those circumstances!
Section; DO NOT CONSULT A LAWYER OR ATTORNEY IF YOU ARE CONTESTING A STOP SIGN VIOLATION OR OTHER VIOLATION THAT INVOLVES POINTS OR FINE FOR WHICH YOU HAVE RECEIVED SOME DISCIPLINE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SUSPICIOUS TO THE OFFICERS, YOURSELF, AND YOUR FAMILY!
If you have received a ticket for a traffic violation, DO NOT CONSULT A LAWYER OR ATTORNEY IF YOU ARE CONTESTING A STOP SIGN VIOLATION OR OTHER VIOLATION THAT INVOLVES POINTS OR FINE FOR WHICH YOU HAVE RECEIVED SOME DISCIPLINE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SUSPICIOUS TO THE OFFICERS, YOURSELF, AND YOUR FAMILY!
You can be charged with a misdemeanor or felony depending on the type of offense you committed while driving. However, if it is determined that these fines are being disputed unfairly by some other person(s), then this will become an even more significant problem for both parties involved in this case because they may need help from an attorney additionally as well as expertise from an expert witness who could explain how specific laws were broken during their investigation process into things like speeding tickets etcetera; there are several different kinds out there today so make sure before anything else happens to remember one thing only: never get sucked into something terrible like this because once you start down this road, then things could end up getting worse rather than better especially if there’s no way out except through some sort.
